Ventriküloperitoneal Şant Komplikasyonu: Metakron Bilateral İndirekt İnguinal Herni Ve Şantın Keseye Migrasyonu - Olgu Sunumu

Abstract

Ventriculoperitoneal shunt complication: metacron bilateral indirect inguinal hernia and shunt migration to the sac - case report

Year 2016, Volume: 4 Issue: 1, 12 - 15, 01.11.2016

Abstract

Ventriculo-peritoneal (VP) shunt is a procedure commonly used in the treatment of hydrocephalus by pediatric neurosurgery. Cerebro-spinal fluid drainage may cause abdominal and genitourinary complications as a result of intraabdominal pressure increase. We present a 3-year-old male patient with VP intubation, who had been operated with the right inguinal hernia and a left inguinal hernia with migration of the VP shunt a year later.
