Children with Type 1 Diabetes in Gaza Call for Urgent Healthcare Amid Conflict

Abstract

Background/Aims: This manuscript highlights the severe challenges faced by children with Type 1 Diabetes in Gaza due to the ongoing conflict. Methods: It outlines the collapse of healthcare infrastructure, with most hospitals either non-functional or operating at limited capacity, and details critical shortages of insulin, electricity, and medical supplies. Results: The situation is worsened by widespread malnutrition and severe psychological stress, both of which complicate diabetes management. Conclusions: The article emphasizes the urgent need for international action to restore healthcare access and protect the lives of these vulnerable children.

Abstract

Giriş/Amaçlar: Bu makale, Gazze'de Tip 1 Diyabetli çocukların devam eden çatışmalar nedeniyle karşılaştıkları ciddi zorlukları vurgulamaktadır. Yöntemler: Çoğu hastanenin ya işlevsiz kalması ya da sınırlı kapasiteyle çalışmasıyla sağlık altyapısının çöküşünü özetlemekte ve insülin, elektrik ve tıbbi malzeme eksikliklerini ayrıntılarıyla anlatmaktadır. Sonuçlar: Yaygın yetersiz beslenme ve şiddetli psikolojik stres, diyabet yönetimini zorlaştıran yaygın yetersiz beslenme ve ciddi psikolojik stres nedeniyle durumu daha da kötüleştirmektedir. Sonuçlar: Makale, sağlık hizmetlerine erişimi yeniden sağlamak ve bu savunmasız çocukların hayatlarını korumak için uluslararası eyleme acilen ihtiyaç duyulduğunu vurgulamaktadır.
