The Lachin and the Nakhchivan corridors, which concern the future of the South Caucasus and are expected to progress on a peaceful path, have gained importance today. After the peace agreement, the developments in some urban and rural settlements in the region were investigated with on-site field findings in November 2023. With the agreement reached between the parties for corridors in the future, new opportunities will be created between neighbouring settlements. The study analyzes regional development and the sustainability of the transportation sector at the international level. In the field findings and discussion section, the attitudes of neighbouring countries regarding participation in the corridors are briefly summarized. The current situation of the relevant settlements and field observations were the main determinants of the study. It is thought that the study will contribute to the field of urbanism and regional development planning and policies through location analysis and transportation planning in post-conflict, peace-established regions. It is thought that interdisciplinary research on the Karabakh, Lachin and Nakhchivan corridors will determine the future as an important part of the Silk Road. The highlight of the study is its interdisciplinary emphasis on the advantages of corridors through spatial sustainability and international regional relations.
