Since the 16th century in the Ottoman Empire, the fatwas were given in verse form and the fact that of fiqh subjects were given in this way directed the attention to this way. The word fatwa, which comes from the root of ‘feta' in the meaning of yigit, young, kavi, describes the solution of a difficult issue with a strong answer. Although the Ottoman fatwas were largely prose written, it was seen that some of the sheikhs or mufti were also given the fatwas in verse form. It is seen that the verse fatwas given by the sheikhs or muftis, who have reached a high number among the Divan poets, are not very ambitious in the art and they are based on a brief description of the purport. Among the sheikhs who gave verse fatwa in the Ottoman Empire, there were many from Hocazâde family; one of them was Muhammed Efendi. He was appointed as sheikhulislam twice after his father and, like his father, he was known for verse fatwas. His verse fatwas are among the longest of the verse fatwas identified so far.Three of the verse fatwas were introduced by us before, and in this study, the later identified fatwas were introduced. These include the fatwas written in Arabic
