In Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire for hundreds of years, Stone Rooms “Taş Odalar”, which were articulated in mansions and seaside residences yalı , have been used to protect properties from fire and used for storage. They have been also used as living spaces. In brief, these buildings have been served a variety of important functions.In this study, an attempt was made to explain the location, architectural features, recent status, relation with the surrounding area and the historical background of ‘The Stone Room of Turşucuzade Ahmet Muhtar Efendi Mansion’ through archival studies
