Peer Review Process

Peer Review Policy: Double-Blind Peer Review
In order for the manuscripts submitted to Rize Theology Journal to be accepted for evaluation, they must not have been previously published or are not currently under evaluation in another journal for publication and must be approved by each author.
The article evaluation process consists of the following stages: Pre-check and plagiarism screening, editorial (internal) review, referee (external review) process, revision process and post-revision control, publication process (language checks, layout and post-reading). It is necessary to wait an average of 12 weeks from article submission to publication.

Preliminary Review and Plagiarism Screening:
The manuscript submitted to journal is reviewed by the journal secretary for compliance with journal publication principles, academic writing rules and ISNAD Citation System, and is screened for plagiarism using the iThenticate program. The plagiarism similarity rate is required to be less than 20%. The main measure of similarity is the author's compliance with the citation and citation rules. Even though the similarity rate is 1%, if the citation and citation rules are not duly made, plagiarism may still be in question. Preliminary review is completed within a maximum of 20 days.

Editorial (Internal) Review: Two internal referees take charge at this stage.
Internal reviewers are selected by the Editor(s) among Editorial Board according to their fields of expertise. Internal referees evaluate the manuscript for originality, methodology, importance of the subject, compatibility with the scope of the journal, method and results, and decide whether the article should be included in the referee process for detailed evaluation. This review will be completed in a maximum of 20 days.

Referee (External Review) Process: At this stage, two external referees take charge (Arbitration Type: Double-Blind Refereeing)
It is ensured that the manuscripts submitted to journal undergo a fair double-blind peer review. The study, which has passed the editorial (internal) review, is submitted to the evaluation of at least two external referees who have studies on the subject. If the referee who has done research on the subject of the article cannot be found, the referees are determined from among the researchers who have a doctorate in that field. The referees evaluate the article in detail in terms of its subject, method and results and express their opinions on whether the article should be published or not. The referee is required to present his/her opinion and view on the study either on the text or to justify it with a minimum 150-word explanation on the online referee form. If both referee reports are positive, the work is accepted for publication with the decision of the Editor-in-Chief. If one of the referee reports is positive (acceptance or minor revision decision) and the other is negative (rejection or major revision decision), the study can be sent to a third referee, or it can be reviewed and decided by the Editorial Board. If the author does not agree with the referee's opinions, he/she is given the right to object and defend his/her opinions. The editor/field editor ensures mutual communication between the author and the referee, while maintaining confidentiality. During the process, external referees cannot learn the identity of the author and the author cannot learn the identity of the referees.
The publication of book and symposium reviews is decided as a result of editorial (internal) evaluation, without being included in the referee process.

Revision Process and Post Revision Control:
If the referees request revision, the relevant reports are sent to the author, and he/she is asked to correct his/her work. The revision period is at least 15 days. This period may be extended if major revision is requested. The author presents his/her corrections to the editor by specifying them in red. The editor checks whether the author has made the requested corrections in the text. The control process is completed within a maximum of 7 days.

Publication Process:
Language Controls
Studies accepted for publication are reviewed by the Language Editors and if necessary, corrections are requested from the author. The control process is completed within a maximum of 5 days.
Layout and Proofreading
The studies decided to be published by the Editorial Board are go through the layout and proofreading process and ready to be assigned to the issue.
