Research Of Social Media Reputation İn The Context Of Corporate Reputation According To The Perception Of The Students İn Universities: Sample Of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University
Abstract
This research has been carried out to determine the university’s social media reputation according to students’ perception. The students of Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University create the study group. The survey study has been performed on 850 university students, who accepted to answer the questionnaire. The survey, which has been prepared by the researcher, includes a question form to define the students, and a scale to find out the social media reputation of the university. By scanning the related literature, the reliability and validity studies for the scale consisting of 15 proposals have been conducted. The general reliability of the scale has been found Crombach alpha=0.931. In the end of factor analysis which has been made to decide the structure validity, “institutional operation responsibility and trust” and “communication” have been decided as two sub factors. The obtained data have been analyzed with the statistical software package. In the research, together with definitive statistics, t-test, Mann Whitney u test, ANOVA, Kruskall Whallis and Scheffe tests have been applied according to normal distribution. It has been concluded that the social media reputation of university is on the mid-level level from the students’ perspective. The results show that the students’ age, the time they spend on social media or their academic year at university play no roles in their views on the social media reputation of the university; however, the views vary according to their department and gender.
