Hastanedeki Ergenlerin Perspektifi İle Çocuk Hakları

Abstract

Amaç: Çocuk hakları yaşama, barınma, güvenlik, düşüncelerini ifade edebilme, eğitim, oyun, dinlenme, korunma, sağlık gibi tüm hakları kapsayan bir kavramdır. Çocukların bu hakları kullanabilmesi için yeterli bilgiye sahip olması gerekmektedir. Bu araştırma, hastaneye gelen 13-18 yaş arası çocukların çocuk haklarına yönelik bilgi düzeylerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Gereç ve Yöntemler: Tanımlayıcı tipte olan bu araştırma 02.08.2022-24.07.2023 tarihleri arasında bir çocuk hastanesinde yürütülmüştür. Araştırma bu hastanenin Adölesan Polikliniği’ne başvuran ve araştırmaya katılmayı kabul eden 147 çocuk ile tamamlanmıştır. Veri toplamak amacıyla “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve “Çocuk Hakları Bilgi Formu” kullanılmıştır. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde frekans dağılımları ve tanımlayıcı istatistikler kullanılmıştır.
Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan çocukların tamamı çocuk haklarının var olduğunu, %87,07’si (n=128) eğitim hakkı, %87,07’si (n=128) yaşama hakkı ve %82,31’i (n=121) sevilme ve değer görme hakkı olduğunu belirtmiştir. Çocukların %86,39’u (n=127) haklarını istediği gibi kullanabildiğini ifade etmiştir. Araştırmaya katılan çocukların %82,99’u (n=122) hastanede haklarını yeterince kullanabildiğini, %85,71’i (n=126) sağlık bakım hakkı, %79,59’u (n=117) düşüncelerini özgürce söyleyebilme hakkı ve %65,99’u (n=97) yaşama hakkının hastaneye gelen çocukların temel hakkı olması gerektiğini belirtmiştir.
Sonuç: Çocukların büyük çoğunluğunun çocuk haklarını bildiği ancak bu hakların hastanede var olması gerektiğine yönelik bilgilerinin daha az olduğu belirlenmiştir.

Araştırma Helsinki Deklerasyonu Prensipleri’ne uygun şekilde yürütülmüştür. Araştırmanın yürütülmesi için Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Etik Kurulu’ndan onay alınmıştır (Toplantı Tarihi ve Karar No: 12.05.2022-08). Ayrıca, Ankara İl Sağlık Müdürlüğü’nden yazılı izin alınmıştır (Toplantı Tarihi ve Karar No: 17.06.2022-41). Katılımcı çocuk ve ebeveynlerinden “Bilgilendirilmiş Gönüllü Onam Formu” ile yazılı ve sözlü onam alınmıştır.

Child Rights from the Perspective of Adolescents in the Hospital

Abstract

Aim: Children's rights are a concept that covers all rights such as life, shelter, security, express their thoughts, education, game, rest, protection, and health. Children must have sufficient information to exercise these rights. This research was conducted to determine the knowledge level of children aged 13-18 who came to the hospital regarding children's rights.
Material and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted in a children's hospital between 02.08.2022 and 24.07.2023. The research was completed with 147 children who applied to the Adolescent Polyclinic of this hospital and agreed to participate in the research. “Personal Information Form” and “Child Rights Information Form” were used to collect data. Frequency distributions and descriptive statistics were used to evaluate the data.
Results: All of the children participating in the study stated that children’s rights exist, 87.07% (n=128) reported the right to education, 87.07% (n=128) the right to life, and 82.31% (n=121) the right to be loved and valued. 86.39% of the children (n=127) stated that they were able to exercise their rights as they wished. 82.99% (n=122) of the children participating in the research stated that they could adequately exercise their rights in the hospital, 85.71% (n=126) right to health care, 79.59% (n=117) have the right to express their opinions freely and 65.99% (n=97) right to life should be the right of children who come to the hospital.
Conclusion: It was determined that the majority of children knew their rights, but they had less knowledge that these rights should also exist in the hospital.

The study was conducted in accordance with the Principles of the Declaration of Helsinki. Approval was obtained from Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Health Sciences Ethics Committee (Meeting Date and Decision No: 12.05.2022-08). In addition, written permission was obtained from Ankara Provincial Health Directorate (Meeting Date and Decision No: 17.06.2022-41). Written and verbal consent was obtained from the participating children and their parents with the “Informed Voluntary Consent Form”.
