Investigation of Individuals' Attitudes Towards the Use of Remote Health Services: A Case Study: Ankara Province Example
Abstract
Aim: This study aims to examine individuals' attitudes toward the use of remote health services in relation to various demographic factors.
Material and Methods: The study employed a cross-sectional and descriptive design. Data were collected via a survey. The study involved 501 volunteers aged 18 and over who were residents of Ankara, Türkiye. The data collection tools included a form with sociodemographic information and the “Attitude Toward Telehealth Services Scale”. The validity and reliability of this scale had already been tested.
Results: The participants had a high level of positive attitudes towards remote health services (3.54 ± 0.82). Moreover, the attitude variables showed statistically significant differences based on age (p=0.002), marital status (p=0.023) and occupational groups (p=0.002). Specifically, younger participants, single individuals, and non-healthcare professionals exhibited higher attitude scores. On the other hand, educational level (p=0.073) and gender (p=0.902) did not have a statistically significant effect on attitudes toward the use of remote health services.
Conclusion: The findings indicate that participants generally exhibited a positive attitude toward remote health services, with women demonstrating higher levels of positive attitudes compared to men. The results suggest that remote health services are widely accepted by the public and represent a significant opportunity for advancing digital health transformation.
