Abstract

Aim: In the research, it was aimed to examine the postgraduate theses on the COVID-19 pandemic in the field of nursing in Turkey.
Method: In this study, which was carried out using the bibliometric analysis method, the data were obtained by using the National Thesis Center database of the Council of Higher Education. The database was retrospectively scanned with the keywords "COVID-19", "pandemic", "epidemic" and "coronavirus". 252 postgraduate theses that met the inclusion criteria were examined through the "Data Collection Form" developed by the researcher. Data were evaluated using descriptive statistical methods.
Findings: Of the postgraduate theses examined within the scope of the research, 97.6% were master's theses, 97.6% were in Turkish, 66.7% were produced in the Department of Nursing, and 86.9% had a descriptive type attachment pattern. It was determined that scale was used as a data collection tool in 81.3%, 98.0% did not receive project support and 99.6% did not use theory/model. It was determined that the university that produced the most postgraduate theses on the COVID-19 pandemic in the field of nursing was Istanbul Okan University (7.5%). It was determined that the most studied subject in the theses was "the psychological effects of COVID-19 and related factors" (33.3%), and the most studied sample group was "nurses" (38.5%). Conclusion: As a result, it appears that the COVID-19 pandemic has attracted the attention of nursing researchers and this is reflected in the postgraduate theses produced. However, it has been determined that the theses have not been studied sufficiently at the doctoral level, the theses generally contain similar topics, the majority of them do not have project support, and the rate of theory/model use in theses remains quite low. In this respect, it is recommended to using different research designs in theses, including less studied sample groups such as disadvantaged groups in research, receiving project support in theses, focusing on the unresearched aspects of COVID-19. Moreover, it is recommended to increasing the number of research on the COVID-19 pandemic in doctoral level theses and uand base theses on models/theories.

Covid-19 Pandemisi üzerine yapılan lisansüstü tezler: Hemşirelik alanı üzerine bir araştırma

Year 2024, Volume: 11 Issue: 2, 189 - 196, 30.06.2024
