Maintaining Dignity in End-of-Life Care

Year 2023, , 590 - 598, 31.12.2023
https://doi.org/10.25279/sak.1150022

Abstract

Life is precious, unique, and special. Especially end-of-life patients need special rights and support due to the disease process, treatments, standards, and complex care needs. End-of-life patients have the right to say goodbye in their journey with protecting their dignity and honor, and supporting them in the spiritual and social environment. Patients deserve to receive the highest quality and comprehensive care service from the times. They're in contact with nurses mostly in end-of-life so nurses should have special knowledge, experience, and equipment. Everyone will taste death so these irreversible moments must be ended in a way human dignity. The aim of this study is to preserve dignity in the care that can be given to end-of-life patients. It's seen that the concept of honor can't be understood and it should be considered more deeply within the framework. lthough palliative services aim to provide these cares with the aim of the human dignity of caregivers and health personnel, there is little empirical data to guide how to achieve them. The Honor Model is a model that can be used as a pioneer in new scientific research. It manages to develop inventories validated in Turkish for the nurses.

Yaşam Sonu Bakımda Onurun Korunması

Year 2023, , 590 - 598, 31.12.2023
https://doi.org/10.25279/sak.1150022
