Year 2022, Volume: 7 Issue: 2, 396 - 409, 01.08.2022

Abstract

Introduction: In this study, the role of telemedicine applications in self-medication management was systematically examined. Aim: it was aimed to contribute to the literature. Materials and Method: The study is a systematic review and was conducted between January-March 2020 by scanning the English literature. The keywords "m-health", "medication management", "tele-health" were searched in International Pubmed, EBSCOhost, and Science Direct databases. The study included 10 studies conducted and published between January 2015 and November 2019, including drug self-management and digital interventions, and whose full text can be accessed. Results: The remaining 10 studies in this systematic review were methodologically reviewed according to the Joanna Briggs Institute quality assessment criteria and 9 studies, 7 of which were randomized controlled trials, 1 of which were cohort studies, 1 of which were quasi-experimental studies, were included. One retrospective study that did not meet the criteria was excluded. Results: The 10 studies remaining in this systematic review were methodologically analyzed according to the Joanna Briggs Instıtute quality evaluation criteria, including 7 randomized controlled studies, 1 cohort study, 1 semi-experimental study, and 1 retrospective study that did not meet the criteria. Conclusion: It was revealed that the digital application results of studies supporting drug self-management are feasible and similar to the current international literature. Including drug self-management in tele-health studies and maintaining health in adults and the elderly where it is effective in chronic disease management, controlling risks and taking special protective measures for risk groups can contribute to the protection of individuals health.

Kendi Kendine İlaç Yönetiminde Tele-Sağlık Uygulamaları: Sistematik Derleme

Year 2022, Volume: 7 Issue: 2, 396 - 409, 01.08.2022
https://doi.org/10.25279/sak.731200
