Abstract
Life on the earth differentiates it from other planets in the solar system. The biodiversity representing the diversity and wealth of the existing life has been suffering from the considerable and irreparable damages caused by the increasing pressures of human beings in recent centuries. The necessary precautions should be taken urgently in the world, including especialy our
country which shows a continental feature and has a rich biodiversity. In this way the natural resources can be protected and a green world can be left to the next generations.

Yeryüzünde varolan yaúam, dünyamÕzÕ güneú sistemindeki di÷er gezegenlerden farklÕ kÕlmaktadÕr. Mevcut yaúamÕn çeúitlili÷ini ve zenginli÷ini ifade eden biyoçeúitlilik, son yüzyÕlda artan insan baskÕsÕ nedeniyle önemli ve geri dönüúü mümkün olmayan zararlara u÷ramÕútÕr. KÕtasal özellik gösteren ve çok zengin bir biyoçeúitlilik içeren ülkemiz baúta olmak üzere, tüm dünyada bu konuyla ilgili gereken önlemler ivedilikle alÕnmalÕdÕr. Ancak bu úekilde do÷al kaynaklarÕn korunmasÕ sa÷lanabilir ve gelecek nesillere yeúil bir dünya bÕrakÕlabilir.
