Abstract

Abu'l-Muîn an-Nasafi probably made the most important contributions to thetheolological system of Matürîdî school. For this reason he is called second person inMaturîdî Kalam School. In this paper, first, after giving brief discussion on faith in generalwe will focused on definition of faith according to him. Second, we will try toexplain his views about the definition and essence of faith whether it increases anddecreases. Finally, we will summarize and critizize his views on this subject.Key Words: Abu'l-Muîn an-Nasafi, faith, the essence of faith, increase of faith anddecrease of faith.
