YAHUDİ İMAN ESASLARI

Year 2012, Volume: 14 Issue: 25, 189 - 210, 15.06.2012

Abstract

Articles of Faith in Judaism

Year 2012, Volume: 14 Issue: 25, 189 - 210, 15.06.2012

Abstract

Judaism does not have a system of creeds which binds its adherents like Christianity or Islam
have. From time to time, some articles of faith in Judaism were composed by Jewish thinkers.
Although the articles of faith determined by Moshe ben Maimon(d.1204) were accepted by most
Jewish people, there are also some Jewish thinkers who are against this idea because they
think that this attempt is contrary to the nature of Judaism. This paper focuses onthe articles of
faith in Judaism and the reasons as to why they were determined in the history of Jewish
thought.
