Abstract

Aim: The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate whether Sakarya has the potential to become a logistics center. It also aims to reveal the potential of Sakarya as a logistics center, the determinants of this potential, the city's strengths and weaknesses in this area, and the opportunities and threats it will face.
Method: This study is qualitative research and was designed with a deductive approach based on logistics center criteria. In this study, which has an Internal Case Study design, a semi-structured interview form and interview method were used as data collection methods. In addition, Content Analysis was used to analyze the data.
Findings: Sakarya, in terms of logistics center potential; location, advantageous and dominant transportation mode, convenience for combined transportation, proximity to markets, investment incentive, distribution, and collection network, supporting and affiliated industries, logistics competitive advantage, policies and regulations, human resources, and financial infrastructure criteria. It has disadvantages regarding customs procedures, information and communication technologies, and specific distribution and storage criteria.
Results: When the criteria of being a logistics center of Sakarya are evaluated, it can be said that it can potentially be a regional logistics center.

Lojistik üs olma potansiyeli açısından Sakarya ilinin değerlendirilmesi

Year 2022, Volume: 4 Issue: 2, 35 - 41, 30.12.2022
https://doi.org/10.47542/sauied.1175207
