Physical inactivity is an important risk factor involved in the development of many health problems. In the study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between current physical activity levels and perceived exercise benefits and barriers among university students with some socio-demographic characteristics of them. 814 people participated in the study, but it was completed with 481 participants who filled all the research forms completely. The data in the descriptive study were collected through the "Personal Information Form", "IPAQ short form" and "Exercise Benefits / Barriers Scale". 66.9% of the participants are women and 33.1% are men. It was found that 75.7% of the individuals in this study were not sufficiently physically active. It was found that women were more inactive in terms of physical activity than men (p <0.01). The total score for exercise benefit was 85.8 ± 13.0, and the total score for exercise barriers was 32.3 ± 5.6. The perceived exercise benefit mean value was 2.96 ± 0.45, the perceived exercise barriers mean value was 2.31 ± 0.40, and the benefit / barrier ratio was 1.28. The physical performance subscale (3.12 ± 0.52) in exercise benefits and the physical effort subscale (2.56 ± 0.58) in exercise barriers were found to be the highest. It is observed that students' exercise benefit/barrier perceptions are effective on their participation in physical activity and sporting activities. It is concluded that the students' perceptions of the barriers towards exercise are environmental obstacles barriers and problems and barriers to individual motivation for exercise.
