Bibliometric Analysis of Leisure from Past to Present: The Sample of Journal of Leisure Research

Year 2021, Volume: 32 Issue: 1, 38 - 52, 06.03.2021
https://doi.org/10.17644/sbd.790765

Abstract

The study aims to bibliometrically analyse 1134 articles published on the Journal of Leisure Research between 1970 and 2019 in the field of recreation. Bibliometric studies inform researchers about significant works, pioneer researchers, research trends, and research gaps in the field. The articles were analysed according to publication year and language, number of issues, citation, country collaborations, co-citation networks, and concept–topic trends. The results indicated that the United States plays a key role in country collaborations, and Canada has the highest citation burst. The most influential source of reference belongs to Jackson et al. (1993), whereas the most prominent cluster on Journal of Leisure Research is “psychological structure”. “Leisure” is the most frequently mentioned word in the abstract and keyword sections of the articles. The study intends to reveal important insight into research gaps in the literature and to contribute to the classification of future trends.

Geçmişten Günümüze Serbest Zaman Çalışmalarının Bibliyometrik Analizi: Journal of Leisure Research Örneği

Year 2021, Volume: 32 Issue: 1, 38 - 52, 06.03.2021
https://doi.org/10.17644/sbd.790765
