SOCIAL NETWORK ANALYSIS OF SULEYMAN DEMIREL UNIVERSITY PUBLICATIONS IN SOCIAL SCIENCES

Abstract

In the present study, 243 academic studies of Süleyman Demirel University were published in the field of Social Sciences between 2003 and 2017 were analyzed bibliometrically by social network analysis. The aim of this study is to evaluate the relationships of author collaboration, institution and research areas published in citation indices in the field of Social Sciences. It is also aimed to contribute Suleyman Demirel University's scientific publication policy-making  process by identifying institutions, academicians and research areas that have a strong position within the network structures according to the centrality measures. In order to evaluate the publications of Süleyman Demirel University in the field of social sciences, jointly published institutions, joint author networks, author-citation network structure and clusters of research areas were visualized and analyzed through CiteSpace and Ucinet social network software. The results show that Education and Educational Research field is prominent in social sciences. In the evaluation of the cooperation analysis of the institution, it is seen that the institution that Suleyman Demirel University cooperates most in the field of Social Sciences is Hacettepe University.

SOSYAL BİLİMLER ALANINDA SÜLEYMAN DEMİREL ÜNİVERSİTESİ ADRESLİ YAYINLARIN SOSYAL AĞ ANALİZİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, 2003 ve 2017 yılları arasında Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi adresli Sosyal Bilimler Alanında yayımlanan 243 akademik çalışma sosyal ağ analizi ile bibliyometrik olarak incelenmiştir. Araştırmanın amacı, Sosyal Bilimler Alanında atıf endekslerinde yayımlanmış çalışmaların yazar iş birliği, kurum ve çalışma alanı ilişkilerini değerlendirmektir. Merkezilik ölçütlerine göre ağ yapılar içerisinde güçlü konuma sahip kurumlar, akademik çalışma yapan kişiler ve araştırma alanları belirlenerek, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi’nin bilimsel yayın politikası oluşturma çabalarına katkı sağlanması amaçlanmaktadır. Çalışmada, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi’nin Sosyal Bilimler Alanında yayımladığı yayınların değerlendirilmesi amacıyla ortak yayın yapılan kurumlar, ortak yazar ağları, yazar-atıf ağ yapısı ve bilim alanları kümeleri CiteSpace ve Ucinet sosyal ağ yazılımları aracılığıyla görselleştirilmiş ve analiz edilmiştir. Elde edilen sonuçlar, sosyal bilimlerde Eğitim ve Eğitim Araştırmaları alanının öne çıktığını göstermektedir. Kurum iş birliği analizinin değerlendirilmesinde, Süleyman Demirel Üniversitesi’nin Sosyal Bilimler Alanında en fazla iş birliği içerisinde olduğu kurumun Hacettepe Üniversitesi olduğu görülmektedir.
