Kentsel yaşam kalitesi, çağdaş kent ve çevre standartlarının bir kentte sağlanmasıyla yakından ilişkildir. Yaşam kalitesi yüksek kentler; yaşanabilir, sürüdürülebilir ve sağlıklı kentler olarak düşünülmekte ve bu koşulları sağlamakla en başta belediyeler yükümlü görülmektedir. Bu çalışmada, öncelikle kentsel yaşam kalitesinin tanımı, önemi, tarihçesi ve göstergeleri aktarılmıştır. Belediyelerin kentsel yaşam kalitesine etkileri Denizli Karşıyaka Mahallesi örneğinde analiz edilmiştir ve belediyenin sunduğu hizmetler ile kişilerin yaşamlarından memnuniyeti arasında anlamlı fark bulunmuştur. Sonuç bölümünde ise elde edilen bulgular değerlendirilmiş ve belediyelere yönelik öneriler getirilmiştir
The quality of urban life is closely related to the provision of modern urban and environmental standards in a city. Cities with high quality of life are considered to be livable, sustainable and healthy cities and the municipalities are seen to have primary responsibility for the maintenance of these conditions. In this study, first, definition, importance, history and indicators of quality of urban life have been presented. The effects of municipal services on the quality of urban life have been analyzed in Denizli Karşıyaka District and a significant relationship between people’s life satisfaction and municipal services is found. Last section includes some concluding remarks and suggestions for municipalities
