Gözden Kaçırılan Bir Konu: Çocuğun Hastanede Yatmasının Aile Üzerindeki Olumsuz Etkileri ve Önleyici Hemşirelik Yaklaşımları

Abstract

Çocuğun hasta olması sadece hasta olan çocuğu değil ailesini de doğrudan etkileyecektir. Bir çocuğun hastanede yatması, ebeveynler üzerinde olumsuz sonuçlar doğurup, sosyal sorunlara ve bazı psikolojik rahatsızlıklara neden olabilir. Hastalığın aile üzerindeki etkileri; çocuğun hastalığının doğuştan veya sonradan kazanılmış olması, hastalığın meydana geldiği yaş, çocuğun uyum düzeyi ve yetenekleri, çocuk ile ebeveyn ilişkisi, aile içi iletişim, hastalığın süresi, hastadaki organ kaybı, bu kaybın derecesi, ağrı, tedavi şekli, hastalığın yarattığı kalıcı etki ve sınırlamalar, hastalığın taşıdığı anlam, hastalıkla ilgili düşünceler, hastalığın çocuğun toplumsal uyumuna ve okul yaşantısına etkisi gibi değişkenlere göre farklılıklar gösterebilir. Ebeveynlerin çocuğunun hastanede yatmasına yönelik yaşadığı sorunlarla başa çıkmasını desteklemek için alınacak önlemler yaşanan bu problemleri giderebilir. Bu derlemede, çocuğun hastanede yatmasının aile üzerinde ne gibi olumsuz etkilere neden olabileceği ve bununla ilgili önleyici hemşirelik yaklaşımlarının, başa çıkma ve destek müdahalelerinin neler olduğunun üzerinde durulması amaçlanmıştır. Literatürde belirtilen müdahalelerin aileler üzerindeki etkinliğini değerlendirmek için daha fazla kanıt temelli çalışma yapılmasına ihtiyaç olduğu düşünülmektedir.

An Overlooked Issue: Negative Effects of Child's Hospital Treatment on Family and Preventive Nursing Approaches

Abstract

A child's illness will affect not only the ill child, but also his/her family. Hospitalisation of children can have some negative results on their parents, cause social problems and some psychological disorders. The effects of the disease on the family may differ depending on variables such as birth or later acquisition of the child's disease, age at which the disease occurred, child's level of adaptability and abilities, parent-child relationship, family communication, duration of the disease, organ loss of the patient, degree of its loss, pain, treatment method, permanent effect and limitations of the disease, meaning of the disease, thoughts about the disease, the effect of the disease on the child's social adaptation and school life. The measures to be taken to support the troubles which the parents experience for the hospitalised and treated child can solve these problems. In this review, it is aimed to emphasize on what kind of negative effects the hospitalisation of the child may have on the family and what preventive nursing approaches, coping with them and support interventions are. It is thought that more evidence-based studies are needed to evaluate the effectiveness of the interventions, mentioned in the literature, on families.
