Abstract

Distinctive perspectives of Muslim philosophers about the Ancient Greek philosophy enable a more extensive comprehension on Greek philosophers. On the other hand, the Arabic copies of Greek texts play a prominent role in conveying the Greek thought thoroughly to the contemporary era. This study emphasizes the prominence of the unique studies and translations of Islamic world in a better comprehension of the ideas of Ancient Greece and Rome

KLASİK FİLOLOJİNİN İSLAM DÜNYASINDAKİ MİRASI ÜZERİNE

Abstract

İslam filozoflarının Antik Yunan felsefesine getirmiş olduğu farklı bakış açıları Yunan filozoflarının daha iyi anlaşılmasını sağlamaktadır. Bunun dışında söz konusu felsefenin günümüz dünyasına daha kapsamlı bir biçimde taşınmasında Yunanca metinlerin Arapça’ya tercüme edilmesinin katkısı yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Bu çalışmada Antik Yunan ve Roma dönemindeki
düşüncelerin daha iyi anlaşılabilmesi adına İslam dünyasındaki özgün çalışmaların ve tercümelerin ne kadar önemli olduğuna değinilmiştir.
