GELİŞMİŞ ÜLKELERDE NÜKLEER ENERJİ TÜKETİMİ VE EKONOMİK BÜYÜME İLİŞKİSİ ÜZERİNE PANEL VERİ ANALİZİ

Year 2018, Volume: 23 Issue: Geybulla Ramazanoğlu Özel Sayısı, 727 - 737, 30.06.2018

Abstract

Nükleer enerji tüketimi ve ekonomik büyüme arasındaki ilişki gerek politika uygulayıcılarının gerekse ilgili araştırmacıların her geçen gün dikkatini çeken bir konu olarak görülmektedir. Çalışma nükleer enerji tüketiminde ilk sıralarda yer alan 4 gelişmiş ülkede (Amerika Birleşik Devletleri, Rusya, Çin, Güney Kore) nükleer enerji tüketimi ve ekonomik büyüme ilişkisini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu amaç doğrultusunda Dünya Bankası Kalkınma Göstergeleri ve BP Dünya Enerji İstatistikleri Raporu’ndan derlenen 1997-2016 dönemine ait yıllık veriler kullanılarak panel FMOLS yöntemine başvurulmuştur. Ekonometrik analizde ilgili ülkelerde nükleer enerji tüketiminin ekonomik büyümeyi olumlu yönde etkilediği ve aralarında nükleer enerji tüketiminden ekonomik büyümeye doğru tek taraflı bir Granger nedensellik ilişkisi olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

PANEL DATA ANALYSIS ON THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN NUCLEAR ENERGY CONSUMPTION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH IN DEVELOPED COUNTRIES

Year 2018, Volume: 23 Issue: Geybulla Ramazanoğlu Özel Sayısı, 727 - 737, 30.06.2018

Abstract

The relationship between nuclear energy consumption and economic growth is seen as a matter of interest both by policy makers and by interested researchers every passing day. The study aims to examine the relationship between nuclear energy consumption and economic growth in four developed countries (the United States, Russia, China, and South Korea), which are in the first place in nuclear energy consumption. For this purpose panel FMOLS method is applied by using annual data of 1997-2016 period compiled from World Bank Development Indicators and BP World Energy Statistics Report. In econometric analysis, it has been concluded that nuclear energy consumption in the countries concerned affects economic growth positively and that there is a one-sided Granger causality relationship from nuclear energy consumption to economic growth.
