Radiological Assessment of the Density of High-Placement Juguler Bulbus Smmary

Abstract

Aim: The aim of thisstudy is to investigate the social density of high juguler bulbus (YYJB) which offers benefit in terms of clinical and surgicalaspects. Materials and Methods:Between ,June-December2012, the16-detector CT(Siemens Somatom) which took place inthe temporalretrospectivecomputed tomography (CT) examinations were evaluated.Approximately467cases and 934 earswere includedto the examine. Jugular bulbus(JB), was assessed on the basis of posteriorsemicircular canal (PSC) and the internal auditory canal(IAA) according totwo separatelevels. Results: Between the age range 1-89, of the 467 patients, 213 were women and 254 were male. According to PSK, there were YYJB on the 149 of 934 ears (%15,9), and according to internal IAK, there were YYJB on the 50 cases (%5,3). According to PSK, among 149 ears detected YYJB, 87 (%58) were on the right and 62 (%42) were on the left. According to IAK, among 50 ears detected YYJB, 27 (%54) were on the right and 23 (%46) were on the left. According to our study, the frequency of YYJB are monitored more frequently on the right varies according to the anatomical formation and it was between %5.3 to %15.9 Conclusion:Associated withautologicfindings like mainly vertigo, tinnitusand in the situation that it is not known on the surgical interventions, to prevent possible complications and morbidity, the existence of YYJB should be reminded and identification of social density is required.
