The Using Possibilities of Dried Apple and Tomato Pomace in Parent Japanese Quails

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine possibilities of using dried tomato and apple pomace in parent japanese quail. Trial was carried out for 10 weeks by using a total of 210, eighteen weeks old quails, consisting of 140 females and 70 males. To the corn-soybean meal based ration 5, 10, 15 % apple or tomato pomace were added to determine effect of apple or tomato pomace on egg production, feed intake, feed efficiency, mortality rate, egg weight, eggshell rate, yolk and albumen rate, yellow colour, fertility rate, hatchability and 1-day old chick weight. Tiral was designed as 5 repetitions with 7 groups. The results showed that inclusion of apple pomace decreased yolk colour score, whereas tomato pomace increased yolk colour score (P< 0.01). Addition of apple or tomato pomace tended to decrease feed cost for production of a dozen eggs (P> 0.05). There were no difference among groups in terms of other criteria examined (P> 0.05).

Kurutulmuş Elma ve Domates Posalarının Anaç Bıldırcın Rasyonlarında Kullanılma Olanakları

Abstract

Bu araştırma kurutulmuş elma ve domates posalarının anaç bıldırcın rasyonlarında kullanma olanaklarını test etmek amacıyla yürütülmüştür. Araştırma 18 haftalık yaşlı 140 dişi ve 70 erkek toplam 210 bıldırcın üzerinde 10 hafta süreyle mısır-soya ağırlıklı rasyonlara % 5, 10, 15 oranlarında kurutulmuş elma yada domates posaları ilavesinin; yumurta verimi, yem tüketimi, yem değerlendirme sayısı, yumurta ağırlığı, kabuk oranı, ak oranı, sarı oranı ve sarı rengi ile döllülük oranı, kuluçka randımanı ve çıkış ağırlığı üzerine etkileri test edilmiştir. Araştırma 5 tekerrürlü 7 grup olarak planlanmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre; mısır-soya ağırlıklı rasyonlara elma posası ilave düzeyinin artışına paralel olarak yumurta sarı renk skorunda düşme, domates posası ilavesinde ise ilave düzeyinin artışına paralel olarak yükselme saptanmıştır (P< 0.01). Ayrıca her iki posanın ilavesiyle 1 düzine yumurta için yem maliyetinde istatistiksel olarak önemli olmayan düşme eğilimi saptanmıştır (P> 0.05). Üzerinde durulan diğer kriterler açısından gruplar arasında herhangi bir farklılık gözlemlenmemiştir (P> 0.05).
