Sports Sociology: From Past to the Present and Its Expectatıons for the Future

Abstract

It is an undeniable fact that today sports has become "one of the common elements of the lives of people all over the world" and at the same time, due to its social dimensions, sports sociology represents an increasingly important concept and discipline. In this context, it is aimed to provide an introduction to the ways of analyzing and understanding the sociology of sports in a world that has undergone a rapid change by scanning the relevant literature and to reveal the expectations regarding the future of sports sociology. In order to achieve this, the study is designed as follows: Introducing individuals to sociology and explaining that society can play an important role in the understanding of sports, developing a sociological imagination and ensuring that they encounter a number of sociological concepts that will help understand social processes that have an important role in the formation of societies, to bring a perspective to the deep relationship between sports and sociology, and to present expectations and suggestions about the future position of developing sports sociology. As a result, various social parameters and social processes affect performance, from the individual to the smallest to the largest teams. Since sports sociology tries to define and explain the parameters that affect variation in success, it is a field of inquiry that can be applied at the regional, national, international, amateur or professional level in the field of human behavior studies.

Spor Sosyolojisi: Geçmişten Günümüze Gelişimi ve Gelecek Beklentileri

Abstract

Günümüzde sporun, "dünyanın dört bir yanındaki insanların yaşamlarının ortak unsurlarından biri" haline gelmesi ve aynı zamanda sosyal boyutları nedeniyle, spor sosyolojisi giderek önem kazanan geniş bir kavramı ve disiplini temsil etmesi yadsınamaz bir gerçektir. Bu kapsamda araştırmada, ilgili literatür taranarak spor sosyolojisini, hızlı bir değişim geçiren dünya bağlamında analiz etme ve anlama yollarına bir giriş sağlanması ve spor sosyolojisinin geleceğiyle ilgili beklentileri ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bunu başarmak için çalışma şu şekilde tasarlanmıştır: Bireyleri sosyolojiyle tanıştırmak ve toplumun spor anlayışında önemli bir rol oynayabileceğini açıklamak, sosyolojik bir hayal gücü geliştirerek toplumların oluşumunda çok önemli bir rolü olan sosyal süreçleri anlamaya yardımcı olacak bir takım sosyolojik kavramlarla karşılaşmalarını sağlamak, bu süreçlerin modern sporu nasıl karakterize ettiği ve spor ve sosyolojinin derin ilişkisine bir bakış açısı getirmek, ayrıca gelişen spor sosyolojisinin gelecekteki konumuyla ilgili beklenti ve önerileri sunmaktır.
