The Effect of Different Techniques and Materials for Ankle Prophylactic Taping on Balance Skills for Heathy Sedentary Individuals

Öz

Ankle injuries distinctly may outbreak as a result of personal and environmental factors. Athletes whom have experienced ankle injuries use tape and bandaging materials for protective purposes in competitions and trainings after returning to the sports. For this reason, the aim of this study is to investigate the acute effect of taping the ankle with different techniques and materials on balance skills for sedentary individuals whom do not have lower limb injuries and health problems. Kinesthetic and open-closed eye single-leg posture measurements were applied on 17 healthy participants (the average of age: 21,00±2,66 years; the average of height: 175,94±6,01 cm; the average of weight: 71,29±9,745 kg) before and after supportive kinesthetic and flaster tapes applications. According to the results of the analysis, there is no statistically significant difference between the balance performance measurements before and after both banding techniques (p>0.05). Neither kinesthetic banding nor stabilizer detection tape did not produce positive or negative acute changes in static and dynamic kinesthetic balance and open-closed eye single-leg balance performances for taping attempt that was applied to research for theacute effect.

Sağlıklı Sedanter Bireylerde Ayak Bileği Propilaktik Bantlama için Farklı Teknik ve Materyalin Denge Becerileri Üzerine Etkisi

Öz

Ayak bileği yaralanmaları kişiselel ya da çevresel faktörler sonucu çok farklı biçimlerde ortaya çıkabilir. Ayak bileği yaralanması yaşamış sporcular tekrar spora döndükleri zaman müsabaka ve antrenmanlarda koruyucu amaçlı bantlama ve bandajlama materyalleri kullanırlar. Bu nedenle bu araştırmanın amacı alt ekstremite yaralanması ya da sağlık sorunu olmayan sedanter bireylerde ayak bileğinin farklı teknik ve materyallerle bantlanmasının denge becerileri üzerine akut etkisini incelemektir. Yaş ortalaması 21,00±2,66 yıl, boy ortalaması 175,94±6,01 cm, ağırlık ortalaması 71,29±9,745 kg olan sağlıklı 17 katılımcıya uygulanan destekleyici kinestetik ve flaster bant öncesi ve sonrası kinestetik ve açık- kapalı göz tek bacak duruş ölçümleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. Analiz sonuçlarına göre her iki bantlama tekniği öncesi ve sonrası denge performans ölçümleri arasında istatistiksel olarak anlamlı fark yoktur (p>0,05). Akut etkiyi araştırmak için yapılan bantlama girişimlerinde ne kinestetik bantlama nede sabitleyici tesbit bandı statik ve dinamik kinestetik denge ve açık- kapalı göz tek bacak denge performanslarında olumlu ya da olumsuz bir akut değişim oluşturmamıştır.
