Effects Of Humic Acid In Soils Having Different Types Of Clay On Potassium Fixation

Abstract

Effects of humic acid in soils having different types of clay on potassium fixation were investigated. For this reason, soil samples of sand, clay loam and clay textures including smectite+clorite, smectite and smectite+illite were used. Soil samples were put into 400-cm3 pots after drying and sieving. Humic acid (HA) forming of K humat were applied to soils at 0, 100, 200, 400 and 800 ppm of K. Soil samples were kept in an incubator for 30 and 60-day. At the end of incubation, amounts of fixed potassium were determined. Results obtained show that HA significantly increased the K fixations of soils (P<0.05). The highest natural fixed potassium values were determined in clay loam soils dominated smectite. K fixation in all doses of HA was significantly decreased by depending on incubation period.
