Aplication of Spraying Programme Against Some Important Tomato Diseases (Alternaria Solani, Botrytis Cinerea and Phytophthora İnfestans) in Polyethilene Greenhouse
Abstract
This study was carried out in 2002-2003 growing seasons to both achieve effective control of Alternaria solani, Botry-tis cinerea and Phytophthora infestans by spraying programme with selected fungicides, and to compare this applica-tion with traditional crop protection habits of growers, two greenhouse, which one is trial and other is the control one, were chosen. It was selected 14 different fungicides and sprayed 12 times at 11-16 day intervals during from the first week of November to last week of March. It was determined diseases incidence as percentage at last weeks of each month.
At the end of the trial, proportions of early blight and grey mold diseases were appeared by 6.25% and 0.18% respectively while there was no powder mildew in trial greenhouse. However early blight, grey mold and downy mildew diseases were determined by 24.4%, 10.3% and 5.5% respectively in control greenhouse. Although the same agricultural practices were applied to each greenhouse, trial and control greenhouses gave 20 ton/da and 14.5 ton/da yield respectively. According to the results of this study, so as to effective control of diseases, it was badly in need of spraying programme, which was planed by taking into consideration importance and outbreaking time of diseases.
