Effects of Adding Organic Selenium and Vitamın E to Broiler Rations on Performance, Carcass Characteristics and Some Tissues Selenium Concentrations of Broilers

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study was carried out to determine the effects of various levels of Se (seleno-methionine) and Vit E supplementation at various levels on body weight gain (BWG), feed consumption (FC), feed conversion ratio (FCR), carcass characteristics and serum, liver and pancreas concentrations of Se in broilers. A total of 360 1-d-old Ross-208 broiler chicks were divided into twelve groups of 30 birds. In this study, a starter diet containing 21% crude protein (CP), 3006 kcal ME/kg and 0.13 mg/kg Se and a grower diet containing 19% CP, 3196 kcal ME/kg and 0.12 mg/kg Se were used. The chicks were fed either starter or grower diets supplemented with seleno-methionine (0, 0.25, 0.50 ve 1.00 mg/kg Se) and Vit E (0, 200 ve 400 IU/kg) for 42 days. Feed were given as ad libitum during the experiment. Dietary Se, Vit E levels and S*E interactions produced no signifi-cant effect on BWG, except for 2nd week, in the experiment. Ration S*E interactions had a significant effect on FC at the 2nd week (P<0.05), at the same time FCR at 6th week were effected by dietary Se levels significantly (P<0.05). Dietary Se, Vit E levels and S*E interactions produced no significant effect on dressing percentage and wing weight (P>0.05). But, dietary Se levels had a significant effect on rump weight, at the same time carcass, rump and breast+back weights were effected by dietary S*E inter-actions significantly (P<0.05). Dietary Se levels had a significant effect on liver weight (P<0.01), serum (P<0.05) and pancre-as (P<0.01) concentrations of Se.

Broyler Rasyonlarına İlave Edilen Organik Selenyum ve Vitamin E’nin Performans, Karkas Karakterleri ve Bazı Dokularda Selenyum Konsantrasyonuna Etkileri

Abstract

Bu çalışma, broyler rasyonlarına farklı seviyelerde ilave edilen Se (seleno-metiyonin) ve Vit E’nin canlı ağırlık artışı (CAA), yem tüketimi (YT), yemden yararlanma katsayısı (YYK), karkas karakterleri ve serum, karaciğer ve pankreas Se kon-santrasyonlarına etkisini tespit etmek için yapılmıştır. Toplam 360 adet günlük yaşta Ross-208 broyler civcivi, her birinde 30 adet olmak üzere 12 deneme grubuna ayrılmıştır. Çalışmada, % 21 ham protein (HP), 3006 kkal ME/kg ve 0.13 mg/kg Se içe-ren broyler civciv (0-3 hafta) ve % 19 HP, 3196 kkal ME/kg ve 0.12 mg/kg Se içeren broyler piliç (4-6 hafta) rasyonları kulla-nılmıştır. Broyler civciv ve piliç rasyonlarına farklı seviyelerde ilave edilen seleno-metiyonin (0, 0.25, 0.50 ve 1.00 mg/kg Se) ve Vit E (0, 200 ve 400 IU/kg) ile bunların kombinasyonlarından oluşan 12 deneme rasyonu 42 gün boyunca deneme hayvanlarına yedirilmiştir. Civcivler deneme boyunca ad libitum olarak yemlenmişlerdir. Rasyon Se, Vit E seviyeleri ve interaksiyonları grup-ların CAA’larını 2.hafta hariç deneme boyunca önemli derecede etkilememiştir (P>0.05). Rasyon S*E interaksiyonları grupla-rın YT’ini 2.haftada; Se seviyeleri YYK’ını 6. haftada önemli derecede etkilemiştir (P<0.05). Rasyon Se, Vit E seviyeleri ve inte-raksiyonları deneme hayvanlarının karkas randımanı ve kanat ağırlıklarını önemli derecede etkilememiştir (P>0.05). Ancak, rasyon Se seviyeleri but ağırlığını; Vit E seviyeleri ise karkas, but, göğüs+sırt ağırlıklarını önemli derecede etkilemiştir (P<0.05). Rasyon Se seviyelerinin grupların karaciğer ağırlığına (P<0.01), serum (P<0.05) ve pankreas (P<0.01) Se konsant-rasyonlarına etkisi önemli olmuştur.
