Ratio of Fusarium Rot on Tulip Bulbs and It’s Chemical Control
Abstract
This study was conducted for determination Fusarium rot on tulip bulbs and effects some fungicides against Fusarium rot. For this purpose, storage survey was realized for determination rate of infection with Fusarium spp. and severity of dis-ease on bulbs of 22 different tulip varieties in 2001 and 2002. And also effectiveness of some fungicides was investigated against Fusarium spp. isolates in vitro and in vivo conditions.
At the evaluation on 100 bulbs that randomly chosen for each tulip variety, While the ratio of infected bulb with Fusarium spp. was determined as 14.0 % in 2001, this ratio was found as 15.22 % in 2002. General average was determined as 15.11 %. While disease severity on tulip bulbs was determined as average 12.75 % in 2001, it was determined as average 14.08 % in 2002. Disease severity according to general average of two years was found as 13.42 %. According to values of two years, the highest disease severity was seen on Leen Van der Mark, Marry Krissmis, Salmon Parrot and Flaming Parrot tulip varieties. Cassini, Arma, Kingsblood and Monte Carlo were determined as varieties that affected very little from disease
In vitro conditions, while Fusarium spp. isolates are found the most susceptiple against Benomyl, they were found the most resistance against iprodione. In vivo studies, the highest effect was obtained with benomyl+ thiram against Fusarium rot. Benomyl + mancozeb followed benomyl+ thiram
