The Aphid Species (Homoptera:Aphididae) on Poplars in Konya Province of Turkey

The Aphid Species (Homoptera:Aphididae) on Poplars in Konya Province of Turkey

Abstract

After the analyzing of the aphid samples, collected from poplars in 1995-1996 and 2003-2004 in Konya province of Tur-key, 12 species belong to six genus from Chaitophorinae, Pemphiginae, Phloeomyzinae and Pterocommatinae subfamilies of Aphididae were determined. Aditionally, five samples were identified only in genus level. Among those Pachypappa warsha-vensis (Nasonov) (Pemphiginae) was first record for Turkish aphid fauna. Ten species were also first records for Konya pro-vince. The most common species in the province were Chaitophorus leucomelas Koch (Chaitophorinae), Pemphigus bursarius (Linnaeus), P. immunis Buckton, P. vesicarius Passerini and Thecabius affinis (Kaltenbach) (Pemphiginae). In present study, the distribution of the species was cited. Short information about the description, host plants and biology were also given for the new record species.
