The Determination of Seed Yield, Slymarine and Components of Essential Oil of Milk Thistle (Silybum marianum) Cultivated in Konya Ecological Conditions

Abstract

This research (2008) has been conducted in Medicinal - Aromatic Plants laboratory and Medicinal and Aromatic plants Experimental Farm of Field Crops Department, Agriculture Faculty, Selcuk University to determine the effect on yıeld and quality some characters of organic fertilizers applied at the different doses on milk thistle (S. marianum) grown under Konya ecolojical conditions. Experiment was designed in randomized complete plot the divided parcels design with three replications. It were applied at the three different doses sheep manure as organic fertilizer (0, 500, ve 1500kg/da). In this study; plant height, branch number, seed yield, rate of crude oil yield, composition of oil and flavonoid (silymarine) were examined. According to results of this research; plant height, branch number, seed yield, rate of crude oil yield, composition of oil and flavonoid (silymarine) varied between 75.73 - 118.66 cm, 5.06 - 21.33 pieces/per plant, 72.26 - 148,73 kg/da, % 20.2 - 27.7 and % 1.1 – 3.1, respectively. According to the results of this research; high silymarine yield, crude oil yield, fatty acid composition and drug of Milk thistle (S. marianum) cultivated in Konya ecological conditions were obtained from 1500 kg/da applied organic fertilizer and population of Konya.

Konya Ekolojik Şartlarında Yetiştirilen Meryemana Dikeni Bitkisinin (Silybum marianum) Tohum Verimi, Silimarin ve Sabit Yağ Bileşenlerinin Belirlenmesi

Abstract

Bu araştırma, 2008 yılında Konya ekolojik şartlarında farklı organik gübre (koyun gübresi) dozlarında yetiştirilen meryemana dikeninin verim ve kalite özelliklerinin belirlenmesi amacıyla kurulmuştur. Deneme Selçuk Üniversitesi Ziraat Fakültesi Tıbbi ve Aromatik Bitkiler Araştırma ve Uygulama Çiftliğinde, kalite analizleri ise Tıbbi ve Aromatik Bitkiler laboratuvarlarında yürütülmüştür. Çalışmada üç farklı gübre uygulaması yapılmış ve deneme tesadüf bloklarında bölünen parseller deneme deseninde üç tekerrürlü olarak kurulmuştur. Organik gübre olarak koyun gübresi (0, 500 ve 1500 kg/da) kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada bitki boyu (cm), dal sayısı (adet/bitki), tohum verimi (kg/da), sabit yağ oranı (%), sabit yağ bileşenleri ve tohumdaki flavonoit (silimarin) miktarı (%) gibi karakterler incelenmiştir. Bitki boyu 75.73 - 118.66 cm, dal sayısı 5.06 - 21.33 adet/bitki, tohum verimi 72.26 - 148,73 kg/da, sabit yağ verimleri %20.2-27.7 ve silimarin miktarları % 1.1–3.1 arasında değişim göstermiştir. Bu araştırma sonuçlarına göre; Meryemana dikeninin yüksek silimarin miktarı, yüksek drog ve sabit yağ verimi Konya ekolojik koşullarında 1500kg/da organik gübrenin uygulaması ile Konya popülasyonundan elde edilmiştir.
