The Use of Lactic Acid Bacteria as Probiotic

Abstract

Nowadays, the interest in functional foods is becoming increasingly popular. People use probiotics to promote their general health conditions. Natural acid tolerance, ability to live in gastric way, reliability records at the time of human consumption, effectively achieving the target locations and tissues are some of the key features of lactic acid bacteria that are important in terms of universal criteria for probiotics. Researches in recent years recommend the consumption of probiotic products to maintain a healthy lifestyle and to increase the resistance of the body. Therefore, isolation of the probiotic cultures and determination of the effective characteristics are very important. In vitro and in vivo studies and especially statistical significant data, obtained as a result of studies involving humans, are needed to understand the mechanism of action.
