Against Frost Phenomena Misting Units in Konya Region Using Artificial Neural Networks Modeling System

Abstract

Fruit trees are damaged by low temperatures. Fruit yield is affected by both frost and relative humidity in the region. Therefore, the measures should be taken in order to be protected from frost in these regions. In this study, it is aimed that misting system is automatically worked depending on temperature and relative humidity. Moreover, it is also aimed for fruit trees not to be affected from cold and sudden temperature variations or to minimize its degree of effect. Temperature and moisture levels were tested after training with ANN. It was observed that the system was performed with minimum error when there was a risk of frost.
