Microbial Fungicides Against Plant Pathogenic Fungi

Abstract

New fungicides are needed in terms of both environmental and commercial day by day. In particular, anti-fungal compounds of microbial origin have drawn attention considerably over the past years. As a result of this, a number of antifungal compounds have been discovered from various microbial sources. When comparing these microbial compounds with traditional fungicides, these compounds could be highly ef-fective against various plant diseases. With the development of test technic focusing on specific target of fungal metabolism made it possible exploring of new antifungal agents selective to non-target organisms. Specificity of microbial fungicides has been a higly preferred feature particularly environment where fungicide resistance occurs.

Abstract

Gerek çevre ve gerekse ticari açıdan her geçen gün yeni fungisitlere ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Son yıllarda özellikle mikrobiyal orijinli antifungal bileşikler çevre dostu olarak büyük ilgi çekmektedir. Bunun sonucunda, çeşitli mikrobiyal kaynaklardan çok sayıda antifungal bileşikler keşfedilmektedir. Bu mikrobiyal bileşikler, geleneksel fungisitlerle kıyaslandığında çeşitli bitki hastalıklarına karşı oldukça etkili olabilmektedirler. Fungal metabolizmanın spesifik hedeflerine yönelik test tekniklerindeki gelişmeler, hedef dışı organizmalara seçiciliği olan yeni antifungal ajanların keşfedilmesine olanak vermiştir. Mikrobiyal fungisitlerin spesifikliği, özellikle fungisit dayanıklılığının meydana geldiği çevrelerde oldukça fazla tercih edilen bir özellik olmuştur.
