Investigation of Yield And Some Yield Features of Spring Green Lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) Genotypes in Ankara Ecological Conditions

Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the performances of spring green lentil (Lens culinaris Medik.) genotypes in Ankara (Haymana and Esenboğa locations), to identify lentil genotypes for the region for conditions also to determine these genotypes for yield and some agronomic and morphological traits. As a material, 36 green lentil genotypes; (34 lines and 2 control cultivars; Sultan 1, Meyveci 2001) were used. Trials were set up in 2005 employing latis trial design (6x6) with four replications at two different locations (Haymana and Esenboğa). According to research results; grain yield was ranged between 165.3-258.8 kg/da, flowering date 65,1-72,0 date, number of days to maturity 102.9-107.8 date, lines plant height 28,9-38,0 cm, number of pods 10.3-15.1 units/plant, the lowest pod height 14,4-20,1 cm, the number of primary branches per plant 1-2 units/plant and thousand seed weight 54.8-74.4 g. Yield/of the genotypes 15 (258.8 kg/da),1 (242.0 kg/da) and 11 (240.4 kg/da) were more superior than the other genotypes, which were fixed cultivars under the Ankara ecological conditions. In this research in addition, significant and positive correlations were passed between grain yield and thousand seed weight (r= - 0.165 *), flowering date (r= - 0.168 *), the lowest pod height (r= - 0. 167 *), plant height (r= - 0. 221 **) and the number of days to maturity (r= - 0.322) while non-significant and positive correlations did between number of primary branches per plant - grain yield (r= 0,001) and grain yield - the number of pods per plant (r= 0,082).
