The Determination of Chopping Efficiency in Stubble Chopper
Abstract
In this study, stubble chopper which has L blade, was tested in three different periferal velocity of blade (33.35, 43.46 and 63.59 m/s) and three different forward velocity (2.7, 4.5 and 7.2 km/h). Dimension distribution and capacity of water content of chopped stubble, and P.T.O power requirements and fuel consumption of machine were investigated. Consequently, P.T.O power requirements and fuel consumption increased as increasing blade periferal velocity and working velocity. Chopped stubble dimension was to be smaller with increasing blade velocity but increasing forward velocity caused to grow chopped stubble dimension. As an indicative of chopping efficiency, the capacity of water con-tent of stubble increased with decreasing stubble dimension.
