Determination of Some Agricultural Characteristics of The Soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) Lines Developed by Hybridization Method

Abstract

This research was executed to determine some characteristics of the soybean lines obtained by using hybridiza-tion method, in experiment field of West Mediterranean Agricultural Research Institute during the year 2004. The plots of land arranged according to “Randomized Blocks Experiment Design” with three replications. In the research, seed yield, crude oil rate, crude oil yield, crude protein rate, crude protein yield, 1000 seed weight, plant height, pod number per plant, first pod height, blossoming period, growing period were determined. According to variance analysis results, significant differences (P<0.01) in the characteristics, except pod number per plant, between the lines were detected. In the research, seed yield 349.11-506.37 kg/da, crude oil rate %18.45-21.40, crude oil yield 69.08-106.48 kg/da, crude protein rate %34.40-38.61, crude protein yield 118.67-184.26 kg/da, 1000 seed weight 171.20-222.33 g, plant height 90.67-119.00 cm, pod number per plant 55.00-75.00 pieces, first pod height 9.67-20.33 cm, 35.00-45.00 days, growing period 134.33-144.00 days values were obtained.
