Reactions of Mini (dw) Broiler Parents to Energy Intake at the Beginning of the Incubation Period

Abstract

In this researche, Ross PM3(dw) broiler parent groups were fed for five weeks from 5% of production so as to consume totally 12447, 11950, 11400 and 10922 kcal ME; and then fed by 130 g/ bird/day (340 kcal/kg) of normal breeder feed. Production perfonmances at the end of 33 weeks of age and hatching results at 28 and 32 weeks were examined. In conclusion, the treatment effects on egg production, feed conversion for hatching eggs, body weight and mortality were not statistically significant. Whereas, the effect of age x trement interaction fertility and hatchability, and effect of age onon fertility were found statistically significant. Fertility rised up by age. Second treatment group was determined as the best with respect to hatching results. Begining at 5% of production, increasing daily ME consumption per hen from 300 kcal to 370 kcal whitin five weeks gradually and decreasing to 340 kcal begining after 2 weeks sould have given good rusults. Treatment and interaction effects on early, mid term and late embryo deaths were not significant. The effect of age on early and late embryo deaths was statistically significant. While the age goes up from 28 to 32 weeks, the early deaths decreased and the late deaths increased significantly. Any significant effect was not found about internal piping of the embryo.
