The Effect of Ewe Live Weight on Some Reproductive Characters in Akkaraman and Awassi Sheep

Abstract

The effect of ewe live weight at mating on conception rate (CR), litter size(LS), fertility(FR), fecundity(FC) and viability was investigated. The effect of live weight on CR, FR and viability was non-significant, and on LS and FC was statistically significant(P<0.01 and P<0.05, respectively). The linear regression of birth weight of lambs on viability was not significant. Effect of the breed on all reproductive characters was found non-significant. The effects of lamb sex and birth type on viability were also non-significant.

Akkaraman ve İvesi Koyunlarının Bazı Döl Verim Özelliklerine Canlı Ağırlığın Etkisi

Abstract

Akkaraman ve İvesi koyunlarının koç katımındaki canlı ağırlıklarının gebelik oranı (GO), doğuran koyun başına doğan kuzu sayısı (DKDK), kuzulama oram (KO), kuzulama verimi (KV) ve kuzuların yaşama gücüne (YG) etkisi araştırıldı. Canlı ağırlığın GO, KO ve YG' ye linear regresyonları önemsiz, DKDK ve KV ye önemli (sırasıyla P<0.01 ve P<0.05) bulundu. Doğum ağırlığının YG' ye regresyonu da önemsizdi. İncelenen bütün özellikler üzerine ırk faktörünün etkisi önemsiz bulundu. Ayrıca YG' ye kuzuların doğum tipi ve cinsiyetlerinin etkisi de önemsiz olarak saptandı.
