Determination of Fungal Flora of Some Sugar Beet Seeds Sown in Turkey

Year 2004, Volume: 18 Issue: 33, 87 - 89, 25.06.2004

Abstract

Seed is the most important generative production material. Seed born fungal pathogens of sugar beet cause high damages on yield and seed quality on plants. In this study, were determined seed borne fungal organisms on some sugar beet seeds sown in Turkey. In the result of this research nine different fungi were determined as Alternaria alter-nata, Cercospora beticola, Fusarium oxysporum, Phoma betae, Rhizoctonia solani, Periconiella angusiana, Curvula-ria sp., Periconia sp., Aspergillus sp. on the seeds of Aura, Evita, Sonja, Fiona, KWS-Tr and Türk Şeker sugar beet varieties and Alternaria alternata was detected with the highest ratio 10-100%.

Türkiye’de Ekimi Yapılan Bazı Şekerpancarı Tohumlarındaki Fungal Floranın Belirlenmesi

Year 2004, Volume: 18 Issue: 33, 87 - 89, 25.06.2004

Abstract

Tohum en önemli bitkisel üretim materyalidir. Şekerpancarında tohum kaynaklı fungal organizmalar, bitkilerde ürün ve tohum kalitesi üzerinde büyük zararlara sebep olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, ülkemizde ekimi yapılan bazı şeker-pancarı tohumlarındaki fungal flora belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucu Aura, Evita, Sonja, Fiona, KWS-Tr, Türk Şeker pancar çeşitlerine ait tohumlar üzerinde Alternaria alternata, Cercospora beticola, Fusarium oxysporum, Phoma betae, Rhizoctonia solani, Periconiella angusiana, Curvularia sp., Periconia sp., Aspergillus sp. gibi dokuz farklı fungus belirlenmiş olup, bunlardan Alternaria alternata, % 10-100 arasındaki bulunuş oranlarıyla ilk sırayı almıştır.
