The Bark Beetle Species (Col.:Scolytidae) Harmful on Hazelnut in Middle and East Blacksea Region of Turkey and Their Control Strategies

Abstract

Hazelnut is one of the most important products in Blacksea Region of Turkey for both production and exportion. According to the recent observations, the damage of bark beetles (Col.:Scolytidae) are gradually increasing. Xyleborus dispar (Fabricius) and Lymantor coryli (Perris) are the most common species.
In this article, the description, distribution, host plants, damage and biology of these species were summarized. The man-agement strategies of them were also emphasized.
