Sugar Beet Breeding II

Abstract

Sugar beet varieties; They can be classified differently according to their production methods, ploidy levels, seed structure of the variety and production purposes. Here we will classify the varieties according to their production methods. These are generally divided into two: 1. Synthetic varieties, 2. Hybrid varieties. Although production methods have nothing to do with seed structure, synthetic varieties are generally multigerm and hybrid varieties are genetic monogerm. In Turkey, around 98% genetic monogerm, 2% technical monogerm and a very small amount of multigerm seeds are planted.

Abstract

Şeker pancarı çeşitleri; üretim şekilleri, ploidi kademeleri, çeşidin tohum yapısı ve üretim amaçlarına göre değişik şekilde tasnif edilebilirler. Biz burada çeşitleri üretim şekillerine göre sınıflandıracağız. Bunlar genel olarak ikiye ayrılırlar: 1. Sentetik çeşitler, 2. Hibrid çeşitler. Üretim metodlarının tohum yapısıyla bir ilgisi olmamakla birlikte genellikle, sentetik çeşitler multigerm, hibrid çeşitler ise genetik monogermdir. Türkiye'de % 98 civarında genetik monogerm, % 2 teknik monogerm ve çok az miktarda da multigerm tohum ekilmektedir.
