Clay Mineralogy of Düzce Plain Soils

Abstract

This study has been conducted on the samples obtained from soil horizons of two profiles representing alluvial and humic gley great soil groups of Düzce Plain. Some physical and biological properties of the samples were determined in field studies and their clay minerals were analysed. According to the clay analyses, clay minerals existed in humic gley soil horizons were determined as mixed layer (chlorite+vermiculite and montmorillonite+chlorite+vermiculite) and illite and those existed in alluvial soil horizons were determined as mixed layer (chlorite+ vermiculite) and illite.

Düzce Ovası Topraklarının Kil Mineralojisi

Abstract

Bu araştırma Düzce Ovasında Humik Gley ve Alüviyal büyük toprak gruplarını temsilen açılan iki adet profilin horizonlarından alınan toprak örnekleri üzerinde yürütülmüştür. Bu topraklara ait bir kısım fiziksel ve biyolojik özellikler arazide belirlenmiş ve profil tanımlamaları yapılmıştır. Temsili toprak örneklerinde kil analizleri yapılmıştır. Bu analiz sonuçlarına göre, Humik Gley toprakların horizonlarında mevcut kil minerallerinin karışık tabakalı kil (klorit + vermikulit ve montmorillonit+klorit+vermikulit) ve illit, Allüviyal toprakların horizonlarında mevcut kil minerallerinin ise karışık tabakalı kil (klorit+vermikulit) ve illit olduğu belirlenmiştir.
