Evaluation of Logistics Company Websites by EDAS Method

Abstract

Websites have
become indispensable for trade today as information technologies advance
rapidly. Websites are where the first interaction takes place with customers. They
are the shop windows which people refer to when they need to get information
about the business. Therefore, websites should be of high quality in order that
they can attract customers’ attention and have a long-lasting impression on
them. Determination of the best website is considered to be a Multi-Criteria
Decision Making (MCDM) problem because it is a process involving various
criteria. This study evaluates websites of companies in logistics by
EDAS (Evaluation
based on Distance from Average Solution
), a multi criteria decision making (MCDM) method. In order
to determine the criteria that websites should have and evaluate the quality of
websites, an application was carried out. Based on the 11 criteria, the
websites of 7 logistic firms were evaluated. Omsan Logistics was found to have
the best website as a result.

EDAS Yöntemi İle Lojistik Firma Web Sitelerinin Değerlendirilmesi

Abstract

Web siteleri, bilişim teknolojilerinin çok hızlı gelişmesi ile
birlikte, son yıllarda ticaretin vazgeçilmez unsuru haline gelmiştir. Web
siteleri, müşteri ile etkileşimin gerçekleştiği ilk ortamlardır. Müşteriler,
işletme hakkında bilgi almak istediklerinde öncelikle başvurdukları yer firmaların
vitrini olarak tanımlanan web siteleri olmaktadır. Web sitelerinin, müşteriler
üzerinde kalıcı etki bırakması ve müşterilerin ilgisini çekebilmesi için
kalitesinin çok iyi olması gerekmektedir. Web sitelerinin kalitesini belirlemede
bir çok kriter sürece dahil olduğundan; en iyi web sitesini belirlemek çok
ölçütlü karar verme (ÇÖKV) problemi olarak görülmektedir. Bu çalışma ile
lojistik sektöründe faaliyet bulunan firmaların web siteleri ÇÖKV yöntemlerinden
EDAS (Evaluation based on
Distance from Average Solution
) yöntemi ile değerlendirilmiştir. Bu
amaçla web sitelerinde olması gereken ölçütleri belirlemek ve web sitelerinin
kalitesini değerlendirmek amacıyla bir uygulama yapılmıştır. Yedi adet firmanın
web sitesi 11 ölçüte göre değerlendirilmiştir. Yöntemin uygulanması neticesinde
web sitesi en iyi olan firmanın Omsan Lojistik olduğu belirlenmiştir.
