Author Guidelines

Responsibilities of Authors

Authorship and Contribution
Authorship should be limited to those who have made substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, or interpretation of the study. All individuals who have made significant contributions should be listed as co-authors. If there are individuals who have made minimal contributions, such as language editing, they should be acknowledged in the acknowledgment section. The corresponding author should ensure that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final version of the manuscript and agreed to its submission for publication. Authors are expected to carefully review and provide the definitive list of authors and their order at the time of original submission. The editor will only consider adding, removing, or rearranging authors after the manuscript has been submitted in exceptional cases. All authors should agree to any such additions, removals, or rearrangements. Authors share joint responsibility for the work.

Requests for Authorship Changes
Changes to the author list, including adding, deleting, or rearranging author names, can only be made before the manuscript is accepted and with the approval of the journal's Editor.
If such a change is requested, the Editor will ask the corresponding author to provide (a) the reason for the change in the author list and (b) written confirmation (email) from all authors agreeing to the addition. The Editor will only consider adding, deleting, or rearranging authors in exceptional cases after the manuscript has been accepted.

Manuscript Writing
Authors of original research articles should address the topic in an original and objective manner. The manuscript should provide sufficient details and references to allow others to reproduce the study. Engaging in fraudulent or knowingly making false statements is unethical and unacceptable.

Originality
Authors should ensure that the manuscript is original, has not been previously published elsewhere, and is not under consideration for publication in another language or at another venue.

Original Source Usage and Citation
Authors should ensure that they have written entirely original works and, if they have used the works or words of others, that this is appropriately cited. Information obtained privately, such as in conversation, correspondence, or discussion with third parties, should not be used without the explicit written permission of the source.

Data Access and Preservation
Authors may be asked to provide research data that supports their manuscript for editorial review and/or comply with the journal's open data requirements. Authors should be willing to provide public access to such data if possible and be prepared to retain such data for a reasonable period after publication. Our journal recommends uploading research data to TUBITAK's Aperta Portal.

Multiple and Simultaneous Publication
An author should not publish a manuscript that contains the same research in multiple journals. Submitting the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously is unethical behavior. An author should not submit a previously published article, except in the form of an abstract, for consideration in another journal.

Publication of Studies Based on Surveys and Interviews
For research conducted in all fields that require ethical committee approval (ethical committee approval must be obtained and stated in the manuscript, and documented), the following information should be provided: the name of the ethical committee, date, and approval number. In studies requiring ethical committee approval, this information should be included in the methods section as well as on one of the first/last pages of the manuscript. In case reports, information should be provided in the manuscript regarding the informed consent form signed by the participants.

Conflict of Interest
Conflict of interest refers to any financial or other interests that could lead to a conflict with a person's work, significantly compromise their objectivity, or provide an unfair advantage to any individual or organization. All sources of financial support and the role of sponsors in the research and manuscript preparation process should be disclosed. If there is no funding source, it should also be stated. Examples of potential conflicts of interest that need to be disclosed include consultancies, employment, and grants. Potential conflicts of interest should be disclosed as early as possible.

Erratum
When a author discovers a significant error or mistake in their published work, they should promptly notify the journal. It is also the author's responsibility to cooperate with the editor if it is deemed necessary to retract or correct the article. If an editor or publisher learns from a third party that a published work contains an error, it is the author's obligation to collaborate with the editor, including providing information.

Image Integrity
Manipulating, enhancing, obscuring, moving, removing, or adding specific features in an image is unacceptable. Authors must comply with the graphical image policy implemented by the journal.
