ORGANIZATIONAL STRESS SOURCES AMONG WORKING WOMEN: A PUBLIC AGENCY PATTERN

Abstract

Stress is one of the most emphasized topics in today’s working life. Any employee, who has some specified roles and responsibilities in working life, encounters “organizational stress” which is caused by organization atmosphere. On the other hand, women encounter more problems both in the access to working life and during their working according to men just because of being a woman. The main reason of these problems is “the gender based roles” which are given to women by society. On the one hand while working women trying to balance between work and domestic life, on the other hand try to struggle many problems. The main aim of this study is finding out the organizational stress sources of working women. Mayerson stress source scale was used to find out the resources which affect the working women. 75 women who works for a General Directorate and its 7 seven departments in Ankara have constituted the research’s universe. Within the scope of research 75 working women performed the questionnaire by the way of face to face and the data analysed with SPSS 22 packet program. As a result of the research; among the working women, social, work based, selfevolutional and physical environmental originated stress scores are high which the subgroups of Mayerson stress source scale
