ECOLOGICAL FOOTPRINT IN TOURISM INDUSTRY AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

Year 2023, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 1 - 15, 31.12.2023

Abstract

Sustainable development, evaluated with its economic, social and environmental dimensions, shows continuity. Determining the damage caused to the environment by a population as a result of consumption and production with the concept of ecological footprint is seen as one of the measurement methods of sustainable development. In this sense, the concept of ecological footprint interacts with the tourism industry and sustainable development. In the study, a compilation was created by reviewing literature and documents, one of the qualitative research methods, with the aim of revealing the relationship between ecological footprint and sustainable development in the tourism industry. Between 1960 and 2022, the size of the ecological footprint in the world and in our country was examined. At the same time, predictions about the state of sustainable development and the size of the ecological footprint in the tourism industry in 2030 and 2050 were evaluated.

TURİZM ENDÜSTRİSİNDE EKOLOJİK AYAK İZİ VE SÜRDÜRÜLEBİLİR KALKINMA İLE İLİŞKİSİ

Year 2023, Volume: 3 Issue: 2, 1 - 15, 31.12.2023
