Abstract

Erken Cumhuriyet dönemi Türkiye’sinin tanınmış fotoğrafçısı Jean Weinberg (1887-1942), dönemin siyasi liderleri ve önemli olaylarının fotoğrafları yanında, İstanbulluların da sanatsal portrelerini çekmiştir. Ancak bu yazıda Jean Weinberg’in hayat hikâyesi ve siyasi bağlantılarının, içinde uluslararası casusluğu da barındıran, başka bir resim sunduğundan söz edilmektedir.

New Findings About the Photographer Jean Weinberg

Abstract

As a well-known photographer in Turkey’s early republican era, Jean Weinberg (1887–1942) took photographs of political leaders and important events of the era, as well as artistic portraits of Istanbulites. However, as this article will show, Jean Weinberg’s life story and political connections present a different picture, one which features international espionage.
